Obsessive rhythms, odd beats, rending guitars and scratching voice, every single track is a hail of blows in the stomach, until a right comes to your nose and beats you down, and while you’re falling in a rallenty in the best slowmotion scene ever, sounds become stuffed, for a few seconds, words are listened so far, but it’s a matter of a while, because a little bit earlier than you lose yor senses, one more shot well dealt, and this round is over. As you go back to your angle waiting for the next one, you feel sure you have learned how to beat and dodge, but it comes the eighth when you definetely give up, then, as the bell rings for the end you can only raise from the ground, but this time it will be only to clap your hands. Lyrics are obscure, thoughts are concise, but perfectly reflecting the uneasy feeling of a contemporaneity, so weak of morally acceptable solutions, offering more than any other times before such different perspectives to pay attention to, with the unique aim of surviving, and not worrying about being really happy, where the only gleam of lights come out of a process of inner analysis and acceptance / ackowledgement of the proper own being, so here’s the kafkian metamorphosys of Slave, or the opener track, Food, voicing all that you need to know about the band: technique, style, power, attitude, all the possibile appeal, a bit of melody would even been perceived from time to time, if it wasn’t that at the first breath you’ll find yourself in a vortex of guitar harmonized chords and clear and quick rhythms again and again.
Embellishing the wonderful work of composition itself, notable are the credits achieved for the album production, from the recording sessions at Fear studio in Ravenna (Italy), to the skilful mixing of Kurt Ballou (former member of Converge), to the final mastering of Alan Douches at West West Side Music Studio in New York (already home of some of the best hardcore and post-hardcore productions of the last years, with names like Hatebreed, Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escare Plan, Snapcase, Atreyu or Killswitch Engage).
